Well, I would certainly write about first impressions if I could remember them. I know I had them and I have told some of you before but they have generally slipped my mind. So, instead of relating MY first impressions of each person I am going talk about my first general impression and experience. I guess the fate on my side (I believe it was fate that brought us together...cheesy or not!) all started with Christine. We met in elementary school and knew each other in high school though we never hungout. Then, one fated day...I can still remember it clearly....we ran into each other on campus. If I am remembering correctly it was up on the quad between the MC and the Taylor. Then and there we decided that we should be roommates that coming summer semester. We met up one day and went over to Royal Crest and signed on (requesting third level).
Then came summer 2004. Christine and I rode up together...I think my Mom took us back up? We got there and the only other roommate who was there was Heather. Long brown hair and friendly. From Idaho. (May I add that when Christine and I got the paper with the names of our roommates and where they were from we noticed that it all said Rexburg. We thought you were all great friends from growing up and we would have to brake into the clan somehow.) As we unpacked Heather sat in our room getting to know us. I liked her from the beginning. Then the Amy's arrived! Amy D and Amy Jane. I can't remember who first or if it was the same time? Or actually maybe Amy Jane had already been there and was just gone. Man...I can't remember. I just remember helping bring Amy D's clothes in from her trunk. I found out that our last mysterious roommate was Amanda...and that she wouldn't be there either until Sunday or Monday. I can't remember.
I felt like we all bonded pretty quickly...from that first day onward. If my memory serves me correctly...I think we even started decorating the wall with pennies that night! All I remember is decorating something by the closet door when Mitch and Todd came to pick up Amy D and Heather for a blind date. A date on the first night! Intense! I couldn't have done it....good job you two! And as for Ro...well could tell she was outgoing and funny but I don't have a recollection of the first time I met her...I just remember that it was so strange that Christine and I ended up running and hiding around campus with her in dark clothes and with black under our eyes.
The next summer when we met Kelsey...she came on Sunday while we were at church I think? I just remembering being excited to meet her and bring her into the clan. We drilled her about her life...I am sure she felt overwhelmed! Maybe even a little scared of us...ha ha ha!

Whelp Kim, I think i might have been meant to be a little my self. I mean, how often do you mesh well with girls you don't know? It is interesting because i had 15 different roommates during my time in Rexburg (including ya'all) and you guys are the only ones i have keep up with. And you guys are the only ones who even give me the time of day. It's just...interesting.
So yeah, maybe it was in the stars.
peace
