The Current Hapenings of Amy Jane

This last month, things actually happened in my life. So, I finally have something to share, and here it is:

Friday April 16th - Last day of Student Teaching!!! I was so excited to be done. My semester was a good experience (note that "good experience" does not mean fun or enjoyable). I learned a lot. I got spit on and hit daily, bit twice, pooped on multiple times and only cried three nights over the past four months. But now . . . Ahhhhh, it is complete.

Sunday April 18th - The Chevy Lumina died :( in the most convenient inconvenient time. It's never convenient for your car to break down. But it was convenient that is happened when I got to my destination and not somewhere in between, and convenient that it was after student teaching and I had no big obligations.

Saturday April 24th through May 4th - Ann, my sister, and I went on a cruise. We wanted to celebrate my completion of student teaching by going on a trip that would require usage of our passports. Ann has had her passport for 7 years and I got mine last year when my dad said I would have a better chance of getting married if a guy could easily whisk me out of the country. Neither of our books had a stamp. So, we flew to Canada and got a stamp in our passports.

The cruise departed Quebec City

And went to Saguenay (I was sick and threw up this day so no pictures)

Then to Prince Edward Island (Home of Anne of Green Gables) Charlotte town

Then off to Sydney

Where we saw the largest violin replica in the world. And toured some old houses.

Next stop was Halifax Nova Scotia
This is where all the Canadian immigrants landed.

And Ann got to fall in love with a Canadian man.

Then to Bar Harbor Maine. We were so excited to be in the United States again. We could use our cell phones!

The only beach we got to and it was about 40 feet long.

Next was Boston on a Sunday.

So, we just went to church. This is the church building closest to the ship. We found it by GPS on our phones and rode a taxi because it was a 15 minute drive.
Then we saw Newport Rhode Island.

This is me and Tom, our dinner companion. They randomly pair you up with people on the ship. Tom tried to pick up on me a lot, so we had to get a picture of him and I.

We had fun on the boat.

Last was Manhattan New York.

Here is the Statue of Liberty welcoming us to the country.

We only had time for the temple and then had to get to our flight. We were able to do a session. This is the Angel Moroni in down town Manhattan. I love it.
Wednesday May 5th - I signed papers to work for Cache County School District. I will teach K-2 Special Education at North Park Elementary in North Logan Utah. I am excited and nervous. Mainly about the age group. I work better with older kids. But, it is a really good class and set up. So, I am excited to stay in Logan.
Thursday May 6th - I bought a 2010 Honda Civic. Well, it is in my possession and will be completely owned by me in 5 years.

She sure is pretty. Still deciding on a name. It's a girl. Maybe Flow or Silvia?

Saturday May 8th - I graduate college!!!
This is the only good picture I got. This is my friend April.
So, there you have it. I will be settling down in Logan. Life is good.

Awesome! Congrats! I am so glad you are graduated. I bet the feels wonderful. Your trip looked so fun! I am glad you went! And I love your car! If you are taking votes I think I am more for Sylvia. But, if you prefer flow I will support your decision :) I guess... ha ha

So, are you nervous to actually be done with college and out in the professional world?

Words cannot describe.
Good work.
You'll be great at your job (that doesn't mean crying 4 times a month will stop).
You are doing the hardest part about working with people with disabilities...the beginning.
God Bless you sweetie.

don't do Flow...sound like a pun on periods...being red and all.
Try a spice, like safferon or pepper.

Periods and Flow is kinda what I was thinking too. I just thought that would make you guys laugh. Don't worry, I have not named her.

What are you waiting for.*mumbling*kids these days driven cars around with no name.

So you must have some fun road trips planned now that you are totally independant?
